Nar Inci
Details
A vibrant piece of Anatolian history, beautifully reborn.
Nar İnci, meaning “Pomegranate Pearl” in Turkish, is more than just a handbag, it is a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship and the timeless beauty of Anatolian traditions.
Lovingly handcrafted from an authentic vintage Turkish heybe (saddlebag), traditionally used to carry belongings across the Anatolian countryside, this unique creation gives new life to a textile rich in history and character.
In Anatolian culture, the pomegranate has long been a symbol of abundance, prosperity and life. Inspired by this beautiful symbolism, Nar İnci celebrates the warmth and richness of traditional Turkish artistry.
Deep pomegranate reds, warm golden yellows, earthy blacks and delicate ivory details come together in a striking geometric design. The bold central motif, surrounded by intricate patterns, reflects the distinctive character and craftsmanship of traditional Anatolian textiles.
Thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary handbag, Nar İnci features a sculptural wooden handle and elegant dark leather detailing, beautifully complementing the rich colours and textures of its original vintage weave.
The back of Nar İnci has been intentionally left in its original vintage condition. Rather than altering or covering the aged textile, we chose to preserve it exactly as it was, honouring its natural texture, imperfections and the traces of time. We believe these details are not flaws, but beautiful reminders of the bag's previous life and the history it carries.
What makes Nar İnci even more special is its connection to its sister bag, Gül İnci (Rose Pearl).
Both handbags have been created from two different sections of the very same vintage Anatolian saddlebag. Once part of a single treasured textile, they have been given new lives as two individual creations, each preserving a different piece of their shared history.
Like two sisters, Nar İnci and Gül İnci share the same roots, the same heritage and the same story, yet each carries its own unique beauty and personality.
By repurposing an original saddlebag, Nar İnci celebrates slow fashion, sustainability and the art of giving treasured textiles a second life.
Every detail carries a trace of the past, making this creation more than an accessory, a wearable piece of Anatolian history.
Two sisters, one heritage. Once a saddlebag, now two timeless treasures , forever connected by their Anatolian roots.
Rooted in tradition. Reborn with purpose. Carried with soul.

Materials & Craftsmanship
All our bags are individually handmade, one by one, using 100% handwoven vintage textiles that have been carefully repurposed into new designs.
As we exclusively use authentic vintage materials, natural variations in colour, texture, weave, and signs of previous use may be present. These are normal characteristics of vintage textiles and should not be considered defects.
Due to the handmade nature and age of the materials, our bags may not have the uniform or flawless finish of factory-produced items.
All bags are fully lined on the inside to provide additional structure, protection, and durability.
