Trail of Anatolia
Details
Once part of a handwoven Anatolian saddlebag, this piece began its journey traveling alongside horsemen and caravans across rugged landscapes. The original textile was carefully selected from the central panel of a vintage saddlebag and thoughtfully upcycled into a contemporary heirloom, preserving its history while giving it a new purpose.
Every stripe and motif carries traces of a centuries-old weaving tradition. In Anatolian nomadic culture, woven saddlebags were more than practical objects, they were expressions of identity, family heritage, and craftsmanship passed from one generation to the next.
The rich crimson bands symbolize vitality, protection, and the warmth of home. Deep saffron and amber tones evoke the Anatolian earth, sunlit plains, and long caravan routes. Cream-colored stripes represent purity and balance, while the repeating geometric motifs are traditional symbols of abundance, continuity, and good fortune.
No two vintage textiles age in exactly the same way. Small variations in color, texture, and weave are part of the story woven into the fabric over time. These marks of age are not imperfections but reminders of the bag's former life and authenticity.
Finished with natural bamboo handles, the Caravan Stripe Tote bridges past and present transforming a historic saddlebag textile into a timeless statement piece designed for modern journeys.
Materials & Craftsmanship
All our bags are individually handmade, one by one, using 100% handwoven vintage textiles that have been carefully repurposed into new designs.
As we exclusively use authentic vintage materials, natural variations in colour, texture, weave, and signs of previous use may be present. These are normal characteristics of vintage textiles and should not be considered defects.
Due to the handmade nature and age of the materials, our bags may not have the uniform or flawless finish of factory-produced items.
All bags are fully lined on the inside to provide additional structure, protection, and durability.
