Gül İnci, meaning “Rose Pearl” in Turkish, is more than just a handbag, it is a beautiful expression of history, craftsmanship and the art of giving treasured textiles a second life.

Handcrafted from an authentic vintage Turkish heybe (saddlebag), traditionally used to carry belongings across the Anatolian countryside, this one-of-a-kind creation preserves the beauty and character of a textile that has already lived a story of its own.

In Turkish culture, the rose has long been associated with beauty, love and grace. Inspired by this timeless symbolism, Gül İnci brings together the romantic warmth of deep rose-red tones with the rich artistic heritage of Anatolia.

A striking golden-yellow geometric motif takes centre stage against a vibrant crimson background, surrounded by intricate details in burnt orange, ivory and earthy black. These beautiful colours and traditional patterns reflect the distinctive artistry of Anatolian weaving, with every detail adding depth, warmth and individuality.

Thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary handbag, Gül İnci features elegant curved handles in warm natural tones, complemented by tan leather accents and gold-tone hardware. These modern details beautifully balance the rustic charm of its original vintage textile.

The original vintage character of the saddlebag has been intentionally preserved. Rather than hiding the natural signs of age and use, we have chosen to embrace them as part of its identity. Every variation in texture, every gentle imperfection and every trace of time tells a story of the textile's previous life. These details are not flaws, but reminders of its authenticity and heritage.

What makes Gül İnci even more special is its connection to its sister bag, Nar İnci (Pomegranate Pearl).

Both handbags have been lovingly created from two different sections of the very same vintage Anatolian saddlebag. Once united as a single traditional textile, they have been given new lives as two individual creations, each carrying its own unique beauty while sharing the same history and soul.

Like two sisters, Gül İnci and Nar İnci are forever connected by their Anatolian roots. One celebrates the delicate beauty of the rose, while the other reflects the richness and abundance of the pomegranate. Different in character, yet inseparable in their story.
